The SYNERGIES project envisions a future where Cooperative, Connected, and Automated Mobility (CCAM) systems seamlessly integrate into everyday life, ensuring safer, more efficient, and sustainable transportation across Europe. By establishing a dynamic, continuously evolving platform for scenario-based validation and leveraging AI-driven innovations, SYNERGIES aims to set the global standard for the development and certification of automated mobility technologies. The project aspires to lead the transformation of the European transportation ecosystem, fostering collaboration, innovation, and trust among stakeholders while making CCAM systems accessible and reliable for all.
The mission of the SYNERGIES project is to revolutionize the development, training, virtual testing, and validation of Cooperative, Connected, and Automated Mobility (CCAM) systems in Europe. By creating a federated Scenario Dataspace and integrating cutting-edge AI tools, SYNERGIES aims to provide a comprehensive platform that accelerates the deployment of safe, reliable, and scalable CCAM systems. Through collaboration with industry, academia, and regulatory bodies, the project strives to ensure interoperability, safety assurance, and the widespread adoption of automated driving technologies. SYNERGIES is committed to reducing the complexity and cost of CCAM system development while promoting harmonized European standards and regulatory compliance.
The SYNERGIES project is dedicated to fully enabling the development, training, virtual testing, and scalable validation of Cooperative, Connected, and Automated Mobility (CCAM) systems. Its core objectives include:
– Create a Federated Scenario Dataspace: Federate existing and newly developed scenario databases across Europe, providing unified and dynamic access to scenarios that support the validation of CCAM systems. This will enable stakeholders to access a wide range of relevant scenarios in a permanently updated platform, reducing time and costs associated with CCAM development.
– Maximize Scenario Usability and Coverage: Develop a user-centric platform that addresses the needs of key stakeholders. By integrating AI-driven tools, SYNERGIES will automatically extract and generate real-world and synthetic scenarios, ensuring comprehensive coverage of diverse driving conditions and environments.
– Support Interoperability and Standardization: Ensure interoperability between scenario databases by establishing a harmonized process for scenario identification and enrichment. SYNERGIES will align with existing initiatives, such as SUNRISE and HEADSTART, to contribute to the creation of standardized processes and regulatory compliance for CCAM systems.
– Accelerate AI Development: Leverage artificial intelligence to expand the scenario space with synthetic data, enhancing the diversity and richness of scenarios. This will improve the safety and reliability of CCAM systems by incorporating edge cases and rare but critical driving situations.
– Facilitate Market Access through a Marketplace: Establish a Marketplace where stakeholders can access tools for data processing, scenario generation, and validation, fostering continuous updates and the inclusion of new initiatives. This will ensure scalability and long-term sustainability of the platform.
