Description

The University of Genoa (UNIGE) participates in the project through the Elios Lab research team of the Department of Electrical, Electronic, Telecommunications Engineering and Naval Architecture DITEN. ELIOS Lab is engaged since years in the research and development of leading-edge applications of Intelligent Electronic Systems particularly in the fields of Automated Driving, Tiny Machine Learning, Internet of Things and Big Data Management. Elios Lab works in collaboration with several Italian and international companies, in joint industrial research projects, also funded by the European Union.

Role and Key Contribution to the Project

UNIGE acts as work package leader for WP “Platform Evaluation”, including development of the evaluation framework to assess performance of the whole SYNERGIES federated platform. Further key contributions include data generation from advanced simulation tools (CARLA simulator), development of AI edge data pre-annotation tools and identification, extraction and data enrichment of driving scenarios using state-of-art machine learning algorithms.
